Even More Cross-Country Skiing Spectacle in Goms

From January 23 to 25, 2026, the Cross-Country World Cup returns to Goms. Over three days, around 200 athletes will compete in a total of six events. Visitors can look forward to several new features in and around the Nordic Village.

After a two-year break, Goms is once again stepping onto the international stage—with an additional race. On Friday, two individual races (women and men) will take place. As a result, there will be six starts at the upcoming Coop FIS Cross-Country World Cup instead of five as in the previous edition. The local organizing committee is planning adjustments primarily in the competition area and hopes to build on the success of the last event.

A Successful Debut at the Nordic Center
In 2024, more than 10,000 fans from all over the world created a vibrant atmosphere. After more than 24 years, the Cross-Country World Cup returned to Goms and made a bold statement. With excellent conditions, radio and TV stations from across the globe broadcast stunning images to over 15 countries, reaching around 10 million viewers. Additionally, the athletes themselves actively promoted the cross-country paradise of Goms via social media.

Fresh Momentum
The newly assembled organizing committee is bringing in innovative ideas while also relying on proven concepts. For the upcoming edition, existing infrastructure will be used more efficiently. For example, the large party tent will be removed, and food and beverage services will be integrated into the expanded Nordic Center. Further improvements are currently being planned. “In the end, it’s primarily about saving costs,” explains the new OC President Urs Schirmer. Around 250 volunteers will again be needed to ensure a successful event.
The organizers are confident that the 2026 World Cup will have a strong impact and continue to establish the region as an attractive competition and training center in both summer and winter.
Tickets for the Coop FIS Cross-Country World Cup from January 23 to 25, 2026, will be available starting in the fall.
